From the interview with the participant, I found out what sport they used to do in the old days, and not to mention I asked the participant some questions about how sport and leisure were back in the old days or in the last 30 years maybe, and I found out that in the old days people in UAE rarely had fun or if they had they would play simple games like (teelah, etc.).
I found out on their spare time they would like do nothing according to the participant they would be very bored and do nothing; they would wait for anything to happen because that would mean that they would have something other than sitting around doing nothing, because back than the participant would go out with his friends if his parent allowed it first which is very rare, and from what I have heard from the participant there are some traditional sport the he have watch live in front of his eyes like the Dhow Sailing, Traditional boat racing, Endurance riding and of course this sport is famous till now which is the Camel Racing, and from what I have understood from the participant, back than life was much better in the communication side because back than the people would know everything and here everything about them which proves how much love and trust were between them and how connected people were and when I asked him what the differences between back than and know, he answered me that back than life was more connected, people would visit their neighbours every day and share a lot with each other which made them more social in so many ways, and back than players were really hard to have a contract for their sport because back than there was no Professionalism.
Sports in any country is an actively promoted activity not only for its health benefits but also for its supplementary roles as an entertainer and culture tie ups between people for the love of game. Being a dry land, sports in UAE are prominently related to the desert sand where camels and horses rule the roost. People flock together to watch various traditional sports amongst which the famous ones are camel racing and various forms of equestrianism, from what the participant said, In spite of arrival of modern sport activities like golf and F1 which cater mostly to the tourists and rich people, the popularity of these traditional sports does not cease to exist in the hearts of common Arab, Various sports events and championships are arranged on a regular basis that attracts players from international arena giving the country a global viewer ship. Various sporting activities collaborate together to play an active role in promoting tourism in the country.

In the end I really had a good time with participant talking about the old lifestyle, about how sport and leisure were very different back in the old days and we started comparing them with our current lifestyles.

Reflective Essay

Reflective Essay

This course provided me with an understanding of the power and influence of sport and leisure in modern society, in this course from my own perspective, I had so many things and learned so many things, back before this course I have never thought or even guessed the evolution of sport and leisure in the twentieth century which to me was an unclear or a vivid information that I had, if it were not for this course, I would have never been able to describe the issues that affect participation in both sport and leisure, thanks to this course I have learned how to describe the role sport and leisure has to play in a contemporary post-modern society, and I have learned that copying anything done by another student and submitting it as my own is considered cheating, and not mention using the work of someone else, or changing some words and keeping the same structure and the same meaning without noting the source(s), and submitting it as your own work is considered a plagiarism, and I have learned to push myself to my limit even for a 5% homework or quiz because no matter how much I want to avoid the truth always prevails and the truth is that no matter how small the amount of grades they put in a quiz or presentation I have to do my best in everything they give to me.

IOC Mock

In the videos that I have watched in sport technology, I noticed how they were always comparing how the sport technology back than was different and how it is now, they were talking how athletes back than trained and kept a stable diet even without the use of that many tools, because back than the trainers used traditional methods to train their athletes, although in our present days the athletes have their own trainers in so many specialties such us muscle trainers, diet trainers and so many other trainers. Back than before technology was discovered and shared around the world, the trainer used to educate and train their athletes the old traditional way which was not a bad way but to the present day it is ineffective, the trainers back than used some equipment’s that helped them train their athletes and build them up probably and make them fitter in their own sport.

One of the qualities that differentiate elite athlete from non-athletes or noob athletes is the ability to reflect on the performance and alter their learning strategies that were possible with the help of their trainers which they used so many advanced equipment’s to train their athletes and help them improve their skills and exceed them and push them to beat their own limit, this is important because it shows the development is much more than just technical and physical development.

If you have ever seen old sports footage than you probably noticed how different the game looks compared to its modern counterpart, the equipment looks clunky, the uniforms are awful, even the bodies of the players look weirdly out of shape and by saying all these things it shows how important and how much they are needed the technology in the sports industry.
